Alfio Ferrara is a full professor of Computer Science at the University of Milan, where he teaches Natural Language Processing, Reinforcement Learning, and Computer Methods in the Humanities. A graduate in Philosophy, he has long been interested and actively involved in digital humanities projects. He is the author of the recent Le macchine del linguaggio (Einaudi), which explores the relationship between human culture and Artificial Intelligence. He is among the promoters of the new research center on Digital Humanities and Applied AI, created with the goal of narrowing the gap between the human sciences and information technologies.
