Giulia Giannini is Professor of History of Science and Technology in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Milan, where she serves as Principal Investigator of the ERC Consolidator Project TACITROOTS – The Accademia del Cimento in Florence: Tracing the Roots of the European Scientific Enterprise (grant agreement 818098). She previously held research and postdoctoral positions at the University of Bergamo, the Centre Alexandre Koyré in Paris, the Paris Observatory (SYRTE – Time Space Reference Systems), and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, where she was a Humboldt Fellow. Her research explores the history of science and scientific institutions, the history of experimentation, and the cultural, political, and social dimensions of scientific practices in Early Modern Europe. She also contributed to the EU H2020 project VAST – Values Across Space and Time (grant agreement 101004949), fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between the humanities and digital research methods.
